Top 7: Music Recommendations

I’ve been rather lazy with my posts lately, but I thought today that I would take a chance to share my music tastes with you all. I’ve tried to gather a good mix of bands that I’ve recently begun to listen to as well, as well as some that have been among my favorites for awhile now. Most of these are of the indie pop/rock variety. I love learning about new music, so feel free to leave any recommendations in the comments!

I’ve included music videos with each song – I tried to find official music videos, and managed to do so with all of them except for Sia, since I wanted to use a video that included the song, “Breathe Me”, since it’s my one of my absolute favorite songs.

7. Sia

6. Fiona Apple

5. Lily Allen

4. Kate Nash

3. Florence + the Machine

2. A Fine Frenzy

1. The Hush Sound

Kudos to including “Fuck You” by Lily Allen. I play that song whenever I’m in a sour mood, and it helps lift my spirits up, because of the upbeat approach to the song. =P

  7. Evelyn says:

Breathe Me is the first Sia song I’ve heard. It was in a fanvideo I think. Love her :)

Whoa! Thanks for all the great recommendations. I am mostly a country person, but I am going to listen to each one of those videos! LOL. If you are looking for a good country artist, I recommend Dean Brody. He just released his second album and he’s Canadian! :D

  9. Meg says:

“Breathe Me” was the only song I hadn’t heard before, and Sia was the only artist I didn’t know, but you’ve made me look for more of her music! I think you just might have turned me into a fan.
