Internet Plugs: Deathly Hallows trailer

Hey there all you Harry Potter fans (as I’m sure that there are quite a few of you). In case you hadn’t heard, the new Deathly Hallows trailer was released last night – not just a silly little 30 second preview, but a whole full-blown trailer.

I can’t even begin to explain how psyched I am for this movie. I have been a Harry Potter fan for nearly a decade now, and every movie that they release (in my opinion) is always better than the last. I was really excited when they decided to split Deathly Hallows into two parts, since it meant that they would be able to cover the whole book properly – I hate it when they have to cut out subplots because of time constraints – as well as adequately wrap up the whole series. Having another movie also means keeping the Harry Potter movie fandom alive for just another six months or so, which I’m more than fine with!

As much as I am excited for this movie, I’m also sad that the fandom is kind of coming to an end. I’ll always love the series, but I’m aware of how much the excitement around the fandom has decreased ever since the last book was released. We had the movies to look forward to, but now that’s going to end as well. At least we still have the theme park out there, which is a lot more than other fandoms can say they have!

Anyways, I’m really looking forward to lots and lots of scenes from this movie (I really hope they keep Mrs. Weasley’s famous line in the movie). This trailer also shows that there are a lot of shipper moments, which I’m more than excited for. There’s also the part where Bellatrix can be seen throwing a knife, a scene which I know is going to tear at my heartstrings when I see it on film. I’m planning on re-reading the book very soon, since it’s been nearly three years since I last read it.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie?

Oh good God. I can’t wait! I’m so looking forward to this movie! I also think that the movies has just gotten better and better.

I’m a little ashamed to admit this, but I haven’t watch the HP movies >.< I've read the books multiple times, but for some reason I never got around to watch the movies. I've been meaning to since they all seem awesome and I love many of the actors/actresses in them – but it just never happened.

I understand the feeling of sadness that the series is ending. I felt the same way about Lord of the Rings. Years of waiting, excitement and squealing fangirlism and now it's just… over? But as you said, at least there's a theme park :)

It’s fine! I know plenty of people who haven’t seen the movies. It might also be better if you watch them all straight – that way you wouldn’t have to wait all those years between them!

I am really excited for the movie, too. I must admit that I have never read the books, though. I know – it’s horrible! I want to read them, though, and I definitely plan on it. I just never got around to it!

    • Marie says:

You definitely should! I love the movies, but the books are 100x better than the films. They’re also much clearer, and there are plenty more interesting subplots that they couldn’t fit into the movies.

I don’t even have words for how excited I am about this movie. I got chills watching the trailer. I’m just a bit bummed we all have to wait six months for the second part!!! But it will be worth it, I know it.

I know! That break is going to feel like forever. Although, I guess it’s nice because it’ll keep the fandom alive for a little bit longer.

I’m really looking forward to the next movie because it looks amazing. But I’m also sad that it’s almost over. I keep reading the books and fanfiction to tide me over. :D

    • Marie says:

Fanfiction has definitely gotten me through some big fandom slumps. Especially fanfiction that is very well-written to the point where you feel like you’re reading a possible scene from the book.

Oh wow. Watching the trailer actually made me tear up. I am such a loser. I am so sad that it’s actually coming to an end. Like you said, when the last book came out, it was terrible, but not as bad as it could be because there were still some movies to come. But after these movies, that’s it! It’s over. Officially. Ah. It’s the end of an era. I am so fortunate to be able to go to the theme park in September and so I will be able to keep the memory alive there with my own memories. *sighs*

    • Marie says:

Don’t worry, I get emotional watching trailers as well! This one especially has made me sad and anxious at the same time. And you’re so lucky to be able to go to the Theme Park! I would LOVE to go as well, I would just have to find the funds and someone to go with. Have fun!
